Ironshore builds and installs roll and accordion hurricane shutters across St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. Two systems, engineered to the wind loads this territory is designed for, measured and fitted by our own crew — and standing behind every opening we close.
Ironshore designs, builds and installs roll shutters and accordion shutters across St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. We measure every opening ourselves, fabricate to those measurements in marine-grade aluminium, and install, anchor and test the finished system. Homes, villas, condo buildings, hotels and storefronts — from a single window to a whole property.
A roll shutter lives in a compact headbox above the opening and stays out of sight until the day you need it. When a system is named, you close the house from inside with a crank or a switch — no ladder, no panels to carry up from storage, no hardware to hunt for in the dark.
The same shutter earns its keep the rest of the year. Down halfway it cuts the afternoon heat off a west-facing wall; all the way down it blacks a bedroom out and locks the opening while a rental sits empty.
An accordion folds back to the jamb on a top and bottom track and pulls across by hand in a few seconds. It is the most protection per dollar we can put on a building, and it covers spans that nothing else handles gracefully — long verandas, wide sliding doors, a whole row of storefront glass.
Because it is drawn by hand and keyed shut, it also makes a good lock-up. Owners closing a house for the summer draw them across, turn the key, and leave.
Most companies here will sell you six kinds of shutter. We build roll and accordion, and nothing else — one supplier, one crew, two systems we know down to the fastener.
A three-bedroom above the bay and a forty-opening condo building need the same engineering and completely different paperwork. We do both, and we do not pretend they are the same job.
Homes, villas and short-term rentals, including owners who buy from off-island and never see the site. We measure, send photographs of the openings with the quote, and send progress and completion photographs through the install so a decision can be made from a thousand miles away with confidence.
Colour is matched to your trim rather than defaulted to mill white, and every handover ends with you closing and opening the shutters yourself before we leave the property.
Condominium associations, hotels, restaurants, clinics and government work, priced by the building rather than by the window. You get a per-opening schedule, a bid package your board can compare line by line, and the product approval numbers your permit office is going to ask for.
Installs are phased around occupancy so a hotel keeps renting rooms and a restaurant keeps serving, and annual service contracts keep the tracks and motors working before the season rather than during it.
Three steps and one crew from start to finish. Nothing is ordered before somebody has stood in front of the opening with a tape in their hand.
We come to the property, measure every opening, and tell you which system suits which one and why. It is free and there is nothing attached to it.
Extrusions are cut and built to your openings rather than trimmed to fit on site. Colour and operation are settled before anything is cut.
Anchored into structure, tracked, tested and demonstrated. You close them yourself before the crew packs up and leaves.
Hurricane season opens on the first of June and closes on the thirtieth of November. Fabrication and installation run four to eight weeks once the season is underway, and the queue fills through May. Booking the measure costs nothing and holds your place in it.
Tell us the island and roughly how many windows and doors. We come out, measure everything, and give you a written price for each system so you can compare them side by side.
